TIME FOR A BRIEF RESPITE

As some of you have noticed and mentioned to me, THEATERMAVEN has slowed down in recent weeks. Unfortunately I have not been attending or reviewing as many shows as usual, due to health problems with which I have been dealing since the winter. I have been unable to meet my planned schedule and, therefore, have not been covering most of the many productions which have been mounted in March and April and are planned for May. For this I am sorry and apologize, but health must come first.

Now it is almost summer and time to travel around the country to meet family obligations as well as get away from those 100 degree temperatures. So I have decided that I will cut short this theater review season for THEATERMAVEN and recuperate completely. In that way I will be fresh and raring to go when things start up again in September. Enjoy the shows that will be presented in May and June and have a wonderful summer. See you in the Fall, I hope!

MISSION:

Theater in Arizona's Valley of the Sun is burgeoning as communities build art centers and new performing groups organize on a regular basis.

To help the average theatergoer find his or her way through this myriad of offerings, www.theatermaven.com will review shows produced primarily by community theaters and selected professional groups.

Its purpose is to offer a service to potential audiences as well as support to the actors, technicians and directors who work in the Phoenix area.
